Short Shaheedi Story
After Becoming area comander of Hoshiarpur by BTFK Cheena, Bhai Gurlat Singh Fauji had a bounty on his head. He was stay for night at home of Chaman Singh, who betrayed him by poisoning Bhai Gurlat Singh Fauji and Bhai Gurdial Singh Disha (Rasulpur). The poison was mixed into milk, and as a result, both Singhs attained martyrdom on September 16, 1991. Shortly afterward, the police arrived and took possession of their bodies. In the early hours of the next morning, at around 4 a.m., the police staged a fake encounter with the bodies of the two martyrs. A few months later, in May 1992, Bhai Balbir Singh, the 16-year-old younger brother of Bhai Gurlat Singh Fauji, was also killed in a fake encounter. Eventually, Chaman Singh, the man responsible for poisoning the Singhs, succumbed to severe mental illness before his own death.
