Short Shaheedi Story
In March 1993, while on his way to Hazur Sahib, he was apprehended by the Punjab Police near the Gurdwara Sahib in Agra. After enduring 17 days of torture at the hands of the Punjab Police in Taran Taran, when Bhai Jagbir Singh did not reveal any information about his fellow Singhs, he was martyred. On March 20, 1993, he was taken and shot dead in a staged police encounter at Karam Singh’s garden in Bhoian village. In this way, the courageous hero from Nagoke village dedicated 15 years of his life to the Sikh struggle, fighting for the advancement of the Sikh community. He became immortal in Sikh history through his martyrdom. In memory of Bhai Jagbir Singh Ji, a Sri Akhand Path of SGGS Ji was conducted at Gurdwara Baba Bakala for his spiritual peace.
