Short Shaheedi Story
On December 16, 1992, Bhai Piara Singh visited his sister's house in Uttar Pradesh. An informant alerted the Punjab police to his location, leading to his capture. He was taken to an interrogation center at BR Model School in Amritsar, where he was brutally tortured by SSP Paramjit Singh (Tarn Taran). The SSP demanded information about a supposed group of young men working for Bhai Piara Singh and their weapons cache. Bhai Piara Singh asked for a glass of water, only to mock the SSP, refusing to divulge any information. He was then tortured to death, attaining martyrdom. The police later staged a fake encounter in the village of Khassa near Cheharta, Amritsar, and falsely reported his death alongside Dr. Sukhdev Singh Sukha Babbar in the December 17, 1992, newspaper.
